BiographyEdit

Victor "Vic" Tyler was a salesman living in Manchester in 1973 with his wife Ruth Tyler and his only son Sam Tyler. In 1973, he abandoned his wife and his four-year-old son. Vic is never seen again after this, and Sam grows up without a father. It is not until Sam goes back to 1973 that he finds out why Vic ran away.

After a car chase with associates of the Morton Brothers which sees the two men dead, Sam finds a piece of paper with "The Victorian Park Hotel Room 16" written on it as the team's only lead. Upon arriving at room 16, the team discovers a lone man who Sam recognizes as his father. Vic is arrested but Sam is determined to prove that he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time

Through out the episode, Sam believes that he can get home to 2006 if he stops Vic from leaving Ruth and little Sam. These attempts are in vain when Gene discovers that Vic is the "Morton Brothers". Sam rushes to the family wedding where Vic left him and his mother, and chases after him into the woods, meeting little Sam and stopping him from seeing what happens next.

Sam confronts Vic and realizes the tough choice he has, which puts his plan to get home at risk. If Vic stays, then he gets arrested for his crimes and if he leaves, then little Sam will grow up without a father all over again. In the end, after a confrontation with Gene, Vic is allowed to go and is presumably never seen again.

The Morton BrothersEdit

Vic explains that he got into crime in order to get the money to give his wife and son the life they deserve. It is proved that nothing will get in the way of his love for his family when he is taken to a ‘meeting with the Morton Brothers’ by Gene and Sam. Whilst the coppers wait outside, gunshots are heard and everyone in the building is dead, bar Vic. After it is revealed that Vic is the Morton Brothers, it becomes clear that Vic gunned down the men in the building, probably to keep his identity from the cops.
